In 1984 the Black Market club night at the Wag in London was launched. Running every Friday for 4 years, it was the night that founded Rare Groove and laid the foundation for Black Market to become an iconic part of the burgeoning dance music scene in the UK.

The legendary Black Market Records shop opened in Soho in 1988 — a record store the likes that London had not seen before.

Over 30 years on and we are still at it. Black Market has made its mark in numerous countries around the World, always staying true to those vibrations that cultivated such passion in our earliest club nights. We’ve got some stories to tell… watch this space.
